1. Acceptance of the terms

By accessing JDR Ninja, you fully and unconditionally accept these terms. If you do not accept any of these terms, you must not use the site.

JDR Ninja may modify these terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with an update date. Continued use of the site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.

2. Service description

JDR Ninja is a collaborative hub dedicated to francophone tabletop role-playing game creators and resources. The site offers:

• A directory of TTRPG creators and resources.
• Public tools and generators.
• An authentication system to create an account (Dojo).
• Additional modules and features, documented below.

Access to the site is free. Some advanced features may be reserved for Patreon contributors.

3. Modules and features

3.1 Currently active modules

• Find a Table: Matchmaking platform for creators and players. Listings, applications and built-in messaging.
• Procedural generators: Public tools that generate random content (quests, names, scenario hooks, technobabble, restaurant menus, SciFi maps). These generators are procedural and not AI-based.
• Directories: Creators, resources, news, tags, rankings, selections.
• Blog and news: Articles and community news.

3.2 Modules in preparation

The following modules are under development and will be activated later:

• Atlas (Worlds and Campaigns): Personal space to create and publish worlds and campaigns. Reserved for Patreon contributors (Gobelin Voyageur tier and above).
• JdrSolo: Assistant for solo role-playing games.
• Crowdfunding: Crowdfunding platform for TTRPG projects.

The terms of use for these modules will be updated when they are activated.

4. Intellectual property and copyright

4.1 Your content

You retain all rights to the content you create and publish on JDR Ninja: articles, worlds, campaigns, images, descriptions, etc.

By publishing content on the site, you grant JDR Ninja a non-exclusive, free and perpetual licence to display, distribute and archive your content as part of the operation of the site and the promotion of the project (including on social networks and search engines).

You may remove your content at any time through your account or by contacting [email protected].

4.2 Respect for third-party copyright

You agree not to infringe the copyrights of other persons or companies. This means:

• Do not copy, adapt or reproduce protected content without permission.
• Do not upload content belonging to others (images, texts, music, intellectual property of other creators).
• Do not use the site's resources to circumvent copyright.
• Respect licences (Creative Commons, exclusive ownership, etc.).

If you create content based on other people's universes or properties (fan fiction, fan art, derivative content), you are responsible for verifying that this is permitted by the owners of those universes.

4.3 Rights of JDR Ninja

JDR Ninja owns the rights to its design, code, logos and features. You may not reproduce, modify, distribute or commercialize these elements without written permission.

5. User responsibilities

By using JDR Ninja, you agree to be solely responsible for the content you create, publish or share on the site, as well as for your use of the service.

You agree to:

• Use the site lawfully and in accordance with these terms.
• Not create multiple accounts to circumvent moderation or limits.
• Not use bots, scrapers or automated tools (unless explicitly authorized).
• Protect the confidentiality of your account and credentials.
• Notify JDR Ninja immediately in case of unauthorized access to your account.

6. Prohibited content

The following content is strictly prohibited on JDR Ninja:

6.1 Illegal content

• Content that violates the laws of Quebec, Canada or the user's territory.
• Content that encourages or facilitates criminal activities.

6.2 Discriminatory and hateful content

• Racist content: Attacks against persons or groups based on race, ethnicity or origin.
• Hateful content: Speech promoting hatred toward a person or group.
• Discrimination: Content that discriminates based on gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, religion, disability, age or other protected characteristics.
• Sexism: Content promoting degrading stereotypes or gender inequality.
• Antisemitism and other religious bias: Attacks against religious groups.

6.3 Intellectual property

• Content that infringes the copyrights, trademarks or patents of other persons or companies.

6.4 Harassment and abuse

• Harassment, threats, intimidation or abuse toward other users or third parties.
• Doxxing (publication of personal information to cause harm).

6.5 Other abusive content

• Spam, scams or misleading content.
• Malware, viruses or other computer threats.
• Excessively sexual content or content exploiting minors.

7. Moderation and content removal

7.1 Right to moderate

JDR Ninja reserves the right to:

• Review content to ensure it complies with these terms.
• Hide, modify, delete or archive any violating content.
• Suspend or terminate an account involved in serious or repeated violations.
• Refuse the creation or use of an account for moderation reasons.

7.2 Reports

If you discover violating content, you may report it using the site's tools. Reports will be reviewed by the moderation team and processed within a reasonable timeframe (generally 5 to 10 business days).

7.3 Takedown requests (copyright)

If you discover content that infringes your copyright, you may send a takedown request to [email protected] specifying:

• The content concerned (link or description).
• Proof that you own the rights.
• The specific rights infringed.

JDR Ninja will review your request and take appropriate measures (warning, removal or account suspension).

8. Patreon subscription and tiers

8.1 Available tiers

JDR Ninja offers four Patreon subscription tiers:

• Gobelin Voyageur ($3/month): 3 worlds, 3 campaigns, 200 images, publication of worlds/campaigns.
• Mimique de Donjon ($5/month): 10 worlds, 10 campaigns, 1,000 images, upload limit of 15 MB/image.
• Dragon Mécène ($10/month): Unlimited, 5,000 images, premium visual themes, uploads up to 30 MB/image.
• Titan Céleste ($20/month): Everything unlimited, early access to new features.

8.2 Subscription management

Patreon subscriptions are managed directly by Patreon, not by JDR Ninja. Patreon terms apply in addition to these Terms of Use:

• Payments and billing are managed by Patreon.
• Cancellations may be made at any time through Patreon (no commitment period).
• Patreon does not offer refunds for subscriptions already paid, in accordance with its policy.
• Tiers and limits (worlds, images, storage) are applied automatically based on your active subscription.

For any question about a payment or billing, contact Patreon directly.

8.3 Subscription cancellation

If you cancel your Patreon subscription, your access to tier features disappears at the end of the current billing cycle. Any content created remains yours, but new creations would be limited to the free tier.

9. Limitation of liability

9.1 “As is”

JDR Ninja is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. JDR Ninja does not guarantee:

• That the site will be error-free, uninterrupted or free of security risks.
• The accuracy, completeness or originality of generated content (generators, resources, etc.).
• That data will always be available or recoverable after deletion.

9.2 Generated content

Procedural generators may produce random content: redundancies, inconsistencies or unexpected results are possible. The user is responsible for reviewing and validating generated content before using it.

9.3 Third-party content

JDR Ninja is not responsible for content published by other users. Although moderated, the site cannot guarantee that all content complies with these terms or the law.

9.4 Limitation of liability

Unless prohibited by law, JDR Ninja is not responsible for direct, indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages arising from:

• Use of or inability to use the site.
• Deletion, loss or corruption of data.
• Third-party content or a copyright infringement.
• Any other cause related to the site.

10. Changes to the terms

JDR Ninja may modify these terms at any time to reflect legal, technical or operational changes. The update date and version number appear at the top of this page.

Continued use of the site after a change constitutes your acceptance of the new terms.
